Every Boy's Dream...

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's a really rich guy with a with a jet-powered rucksack... or as he calls it - "two supersonic beams of thrust." This must be every young boy's dream. It's still mine! I just need that damsel in distress.

Politeness Goes A Long Way...

This out of control rally driver is the personification of politeness. This is right out of the Hugh Grant/Colin Firth school for English, bumbling middle classes.

Stick 'em up, Euro style

Coke+Panini Euro2008 Album Ad
I don’t have to tell you that tonight is the first semi final game of Euro 2008. Or that after a tournament full of peerless performances (Arda Turan, David Villa) and unbelievable upsets (The Netherlands vs. everyone except Russia), the four remaining teams all pretty much deserve to be where they are. But did you know that there is still time to log in to the official UEFA Euro 2008 Sticker Album and best your friends at football trivia? Not only that, the stickers of your favourite players come with cool pics and video. Check it out now before another Euro has come and gone!

A Seal Criminal

Well this is one step further than your standard home video of a budgie nodding it's head to music. Gary Barlow has never been as energetic, in time and not to mention as slim, as this aquatic entertainer...

Welcome to the Skiver blog...

Welcome fellow skivers to the blog that will hopefully help you pass your desk-bound time faster than a Pete Doherty jail sentence.

I myself will be as work-shy as is feasibly possible and search for the best in videos, pictures, and attachments on the web and serve them up for you.

Soon the days will be gone when the only thing that keeps you awake as you irritably tap away at your keyboard is the thought of the office door shutting behind you at 5:30 sharp.

I will endeavour to entertain you with an assortment of humorous snippets, but whilst on your daytime skive if you happen to come across anything that will aid your fellow idle collective then please send it in to theskiver@live.co.uk.

I will feature the best on the Fun & Viral page.

Happy skiving!

Watch Out Leona...

Big Brother 7's Chanelle Hayes has launched her pop career, with a song entitled 'I Want It'. Well, the burning question on everyone's gobsmacked lips, Chanelle, is "what do you want?" I don't think you explain it enough in your video when you prance around in a corset, putting your finger in your mouth and squeezing your own boobs. Next time, and I'm sure there will be at least one more attempt of musical self-degradation, could you make it crystal exactly what you're referring to. Maybe a track called... "I've run out of cash so I'm going to get naked in a music video and have my voice produced to sound like Cher groaning into a traffic cone"?

Football's Discipline Problem...

And you thought that Javier Mascherano's polite questioning of the referee was disgraceful.

Well, Steve Bennett - yes I'm talking to you - count yourself lucky that you weren't on the end of this...

The Best Wedding Dance Ever...

I hate all that contrived romance at weddings. And that's not to say I'm a cynic towards love, it's the forced traditions that I can't stand.

I'm not against 'the first dance' as a tradition either, it's just the fact that's it's always to some unoriginal, cliché, motown track.

But these newly-weds have got the right idea. And I'm sure they're as much in love as a couple rhythmically declaring their love to Otis Reading, Marvin Gaye or Lionel bleedin' Ritchie.

Pushy Parents

Is this an example of pushy-parents gone mad? I know many rock 'n' roll stars are not toilet trained, but this is taking it too far.

Having said that - maybe there's something to be said for weighing your kid down with a guitar, chocking it on a microphone and forcing it to perform for you...

Whilst most two-year-old kids' musical talents involve whacking an alphabetic building block on their highchair tray, this John Lennon protege is playing a guitar, singing more tunefully than half of Girls Aloud and just to show off... not even her native tongue.
